SME restart and recovery grants Delivered by North East Growth Hub

Eligible SMEs in the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear or County Durham – businesses deemed to have been directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic – will be able to apply for grants of between £1,000 and £3,000.

The funds can be used to:
• access one to one expert advice on HR, accounts, legal, financial, H&S, IT / digital or sector specialists etc.
• adopt new technology in order to continue to deliver a business activity or diversify in response to COVID 19.

Applications for this had been overwhelming so they have introduced a ballot system where you can apply via a simple form that will be made available for 36 hours for businesses to provide high-level information and they are asking for this information in phases across local authority areas.

The ballot for Newcastle based businesses opens on Wednesday 7th October at mid-day and closes on Thursday 8th October at midnight.

For more information on your local authority slot and who is eligible see httpss://www.northeastgrowthhub.co.uk/finance-and-funding/north-east-growth-hub-1/sme-restart-and-recovery-grants

Government Local lockdown/restrictions support

Businesses in England required to close due to local lockdowns or targeted restrictions will now be able to receive grants worth up to £1,500 every three weeks. To be eligible for the grant, a business must have been required to close due to local COVID-19 restrictions. Local authorities will be responsible for distributing the grants to businesses in circumstances where they are closed due to local interventions and each payment will be made for a 3 week lockdown period.
